FOPSIM is a Maltese foundation that aims to achieve concrete progress for marginalized groups or sections within Maltese society in the following areas: Employment, Social protection and inclusion, Working conditions, Anti-discrimination, Diversity and gender equality, Youths & Elderly.

In this context FOPSIM’s main mission is to promote and sustain employment, social solidarity, youth and other marginalized issues to achieve tangible advancement in the transition towards a more equitable society.

FOPSIM has participated in the following European projects in the field of sports:

European Outdoor Network Experiences (E-One) – E+ Sport: The project aims to build a European network of stakeholders operating in the field of sport and “non-organised” activities, as described in the EU Physical Activity Guidelines, with particular reference to “Outdoor” sports and “Open-air” activities.

Sport, Partnership, Inclusion and Network (SPIN) – E+ Sport: This project aims to promote the cooperation and the creation of collaborative partnerships in the field of sport, by promoting synergies between youth policies and sports with/among local, regional, national and international stakeholders.

European Medieval Sports & Street Games Network (EAC) This project aims: to develop and safeguard the traditional sports and games in Europe and their common values within an international context of local development-oriented; To develop on the European territory the knowledge and practice of sports and traditional games as a symbol of identity and the historical and cultural heritage of a territory; To encourage the construction of shared programs of European cooperation and of thematic networks, to meet the challenges of the future and therefore ensure the future sustainability of the project and on European territory it disseminates the information, communication and knowledge of sports and traditional games.
